Laylock
This colour can be seen as the tint beloved of the brothers Adam and ubiquitous in the fashionable interiors they created in the last quarter of the 18th century. I have avoided this shade becoming too fragrant by using red oxide instead of carmine (in the past the organic pigments used to make lakes did not have the opacity of earth pigments and so would have seemed softer to the eye than the modern equivalent.
"Gosh, that's beautiful! I have always loved Laylock"
