Granite Green

Carlton House had the most extravagant interiors in all of Regency London. Happily it was recorded in a beautiful series of watercolours, published as aquatints, by William Henry Pyne before its destruction by George IV. He shows three interiors painted in Granite Green and remarks in his text how admirably the colour sets off the exotic marbles used for the columns. I find this shade still works fantastically in this regard – the Prussian blue and yellow ochre in its make up anchoring it beautifully to all sorts of natural materials from marble and stone through to wood and terra cotta.

We offer our Granite Green in a selection of lighter shades. 60%, 40% and 20% lighter shades, to cover the use of this beautiful colour throughout the home. Green in colour and creating a greener future, we make beautiful natural paints that do not cost the earth.

We have used your paint for the first time in our new kitchen and it is absolutely stunning.  One coat has covered really well.  The colour is gorgeous (Granite Green) and the cover is exceptional.  We will never use any other paint again.

Getting the canvas of your room right is a challenge for any interior designer, so I was delighted when I discovered the Edward Bulmer paint range. The natural pigments that they use in their paints really do bring your interior to life and give their palettes a versatility and depth that I have failed to find elsewhere. …

“You might just have converted me- I have Loathed grey – every developer slaps it on every front door and wall – making it supposedly achingly modern (dull) But with colour it is transformed!!”

Ursula Falconer

‘The shade changes beautifully with the light and goes from more of a neutral to a very slight plaster pink, and feels elegant whilst giving the room depth. It’s always been important to me to try and soften the old gnarly features of the stone and beams which we have here so that it never …

I wanted to let you know that I had finally been painting the billiard room with your paint, and I love your paint, the quality and the coverage, for years I had always said to my customers to use other premium paint brands but now I will suggest to use yours only, I am so …

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?
