Carlton House had the most extravagant interiors in all of Regency London. Happily it was recorded in a beautiful series of watercolours, published as aquatints, by William Henry Pyne before its destruction by George IV. He shows three interiors painted in Granite Green and remarks in his text how admirably the colour sets off the exotic marbles used for the columns. I find this shade still works fantastically in this regard – the Prussian blue and yellow ochre in its make up anchoring it beautifully to all sorts of natural materials from marble and stone through to wood and terra cotta.
We offer our Granite Green in a selection of lighter shades. 60%, 40% and 20% lighter shades, to cover the use of this beautiful colour throughout the home. Green in colour and creating a greener future, we make beautiful natural paints that do not cost the earth.
We have used your paint for the first time in our new kitchen and it is absolutely stunning. One coat has covered really well. The colour is gorgeous (Granite Green) and the cover is exceptional. We will never use any other paint again.

The first colour I knew I wanted to use was ‘Invisible Green’ by Edward Bulmer in the drawing room. I realised that I’ve never met a bright green room I don’t love, yet I rarely use the colour. This is the green of Babar’s coat – a shade that goes with so much, as it …
Such gorgeous paint to work with, it’s the first time I’ve used it and will be recommending it to all my clients now. It was a pleasure to apply and the opacity was fantastic!
At last we found the perfect off white for our bedroom which we both love. Neither too pink nor too white Rose Tinted White goes perfectly with the rest of our decor. The paint was lovely, went on so easily with only two coats
Recently I bought a house for the first time and wanted to re decorate before I moved in. My priority was to find non toxic paints, and also to find colours that I felt happy with. At first I was not sure I would find both. After much research I chose Edward Bulmer paints. They are both completely and …
I have just finished painting my bathroom in Azurite and had to tell you, although you obviously already know … the best emulsion I have ever used, stunning results and the coverage is amazing, only needed one coat! I used your interior eggshell a couple of years ago and that was heaven to use too …
We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.
Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.
If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!
