Garter Blue

It is possible the name of the colour used on the staircase at Osterley Park in 1787 referred to the colour of the Garter ribbon and allude to aristocratic clients. Whether true or not I have taken a blue verditer hue as my starting point and achieved a tone light enough to give a fresh wall colour that is bouncy enough for a bedroom but subtle enough for all sorts of living rooms – even halls. We make sure our range has the right colour for every space and we are leading the way in producing a truly eco-friendly range and supplying an honest declaration of our ingredients.

Loved the depth of colour and lumminosity of the paint, easy to apply and great coverage.

We have spent years perfecting our pioneering plant-based paints and we are proud of the product we have created using gentle chemistry and a lot of dedication to making a more sustainable paint! We believe we are pioneers in creating natural paints using plant-based ingredients instead of petrochemical derived products.

Unlike many other paint brands, what’s in our tins is on our tins! We declare all of our ingredients, read our full list of ingredients and learn more about how our paint is made.

We use our local courier service called APC which is based in Hereford.  APC operates franchises throughout the country and we can deliver parcels throughout the UK on an overnight service.

We are not able to offer returns, as all of our paint is mixed to order and therefore is a bespoke product.

NB: We will accept returns of non bespoke products which include preparatory products.

If you believe your paint is faulty, please contact our team.

We were lucky enough to buy our dream 18th century farmhouse last year. We decided that decoration would be done using suitably premium paints. After much market research and many sample pots from various suppliers we chose Edward Bulmer natural paint, both for the undoubted quality and also the colour palette on offer. We have …

Thanks again for all your help – we are delighted with the Edward Bulmer paints. We have painted two rooms with 18th century panelling, which we were nervous about, and both the advice we received and your paint has been brilliant.

Fiona Crookall

My decorator said it was the best paint he had ever worked with!

Sarah Brown Interiors

When renovating and extending our house near Bath we put love and energy into every detail, from door handles, to floorboards and furniture to paintings. But the thing that made the biggest difference to creating the atmosphere of our dream home was the paint. Not only are the colours subtle and artistic, but the smell and chalky …

This space gives off an incredible sense of calmness whilst being both homely and paired back. @theaspeke designed this serene living room room using our plaster pink 'Jonquil' on the walls. "It was the red clay roof tiles of this former agricultural building on a Wiltshire farm that provided interiors consultant and antiques dealer @theaspeke with the inspiration for a calm, warm palette. Furnished with rustic pieces and vintage European furniture that Thea has sourced, it is now a welcoming home." @elizabethmetcalfe writes in a recent feature in @houseandgardenuk showing this wonderful room and more of @theaspeke's home. 📸 by @michaelsinclair Keeping it minimal and fresh in this dining space by @foresttohome featuring their Seasons Dining Table made from solid English oak. The wood is finished in natural oil, free from nasty VOC's, love to see brands making furniture out of natural materials and treating them with natural products. Paired perfectly with our colour 'Portland' on the walls, also natural and free from nasty VOC's and harmful chemicals 🌿🌍🌳 Happy Friday! ‘Lilac Pink’ looking warm and calming in @alisoncoldridge’s home, paired with beautiful flooring and flowers. Our paints are made using mineral and earth pigments so they change depending on the space, light and room - this versatility is what makes our paint different to any other on the market! #naturalpaint We are coveting every detail of this guest bedroom in Drumtennant, a newly built Georgian style house with interiors designed by @olpol_and_co and architecturally designed by @rupertcunningham from @benpentreathstudio. Painted in our ‘Pea Green’ on the walls, and our plaster pink ‘Jonquil’ on the ceiling and bathroom walls. Paired beautifully with curtain fabric by @gpjbaker and the chair upholstered in @theislemill… it’s magical, thank you @olpol_and_co 📸 @georgiarothmanproductions So lovely to see our ‘Turquoise’ ‘in full bloom’ at the Chelsea Flower Show with @comptonsmithinteriors and in such good company from fabrics, to furnishings and artwork. Take a look for yourself and head to stand EA440, the corner of Eastern Avenue and Eastern way. Thank you for using our plant-based paints for such a fitting event @comptonsmithinteriors and to such great effect. Take a look at our stories to see a few of our favourites paint colours paired with some beautiful blooms! 🌸🌿🎨 ‘Olympian Green’ bathroom at the home of @edward_bulmer who describes this colour as a ‘lime green without being a slime green’! Our colours are versatile and change in different spaces and lights because they are made from wonderful natural ingredients! Did you know that we are unique in making our paint with a plant-based binder, an alternative to a polymer derived binder used in most modern paints. These polymer binders contain micro beads and this particular ingredient is what contributes heavily to the 180,000 tones of micro plastics from paint ALONE that end up in our rivers and oceans every year! Switching to a natural paint is an easy way to avoid these devastating realities. Every day we strive to clean up the paint industry one tin at a time! 🌎🍃🎨💚
