Known in house (and palace) painting in the C17th, this colour only requires blue, black and raw umber pigments. It is a rich colour when used on panelling and would have been expensive to achieve. Originally it would have been mixed in ‘oyle paint’ and built up in 3 to 5 layers. Our recipe is very successful in our water based emulsion and eggshells and can utterly transform a panelled room, even today! All our water based paints are virtually odourless and contain no harmful VOC’s, you can sleep in the room the same day as painting it!
I'd never heard of you until I read the paint schedule so was a bit weary as we'd had some problems with other paint brands. What a very pleasant surprise once we started using your Cerullian Blue. Beautiful colour and such brilliant quality paint, really far ahead of Farrow and Ball which is maybe your nearest competition.
