One of the world’s oldest pigments has been around so long it has many names – Royal, Shellfish, Imperial, Byzantine and Purple of the Ancients. We use mineral pigments for the substance of the colour (letting the shellfish off the hook) and offer a tone, not for the fainthearted, but so rewarding when used with high contrast whites for the trim or an all over treatment with rich textiles.
“When renovating and extending our house near Bath we put love and energy into every detail, from door handles, to floorboards and furniture to paintings. But the thing that made the biggest difference to creating the atmosphere of our dream home was the paint. Not only are the colours subtle and artistic, but the smell and chalky texture are part of the experience. We have a different colour in every room and these paints have defined the character of our house. We love them! and wouldn’t use anything else as they are truly sustainable and we know contain absolutely no nasty chemicals for us and our baby girl. “
