The first paint makers to register this colour did so in 1764 but the recipe has wandered about all over the place since then! It gives a dramatic look when used today as a wall colour. Our use of Prussian Blue, Chrome Yellow and earth pigments lends it tonal complexity and welcome warmth. Its origins were in Brunswick where our base paint is now made. We work with a pioneering team of gentle chemists to create paint which does not cost the earth, is eco-friendly and kind to your health.
I just thought I should tell you that the builders love your paint. The big chief says he will definitely use it again!!

The A5 colour samples were very useful and the paint is a real pleasure to apply – no smell and the lighter colour covers even the dark red walls very well with the first coat. Also very impressed with the bamboo brushes – certainly the best I have used.
In my own home, I favour ‘Clove’ and have used it throughout my hall and stairway, it is a warm, versatile and elegant colour.
We used Edward Bulmer’s Natural Paint throughout our family home when we took it over from my husband’s parents. It was always a much loved home and although we have redecorated it from top to bottom the subtle colours give it a timeless air and have united new rooms that we have added with the old Jacobean features of …
