The beautiful front cover of Country and Townhouse, photography by Marcus Dawes Photography by Marcus Dawes The wonderful Country and Townhouse interiors team, Carole Annett and Pandora Lewis, photography by Marcus Dawes At the Bvulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge last week we were excited to attend a party hosted by the wonderful team at Country and Townhouse, to receive an award that means a great deal to all of us at Edward Bulmer Natural Paint. When we enter these awards, it’s always a pleasure for us to sit down and think of the ways in which we endeavour to make a mends that humanity have caused to our planet, and subsequently the climate. It is a bitter sweet process in which we feel great hope and great sadness. Edward had a vision to create a product that does not cost the earth and helps to protect both people and planet. For people, to help benefit their health, well being and connection to colour and planet being our honest ingredients, commitment to responsible design and healthy interiors. Pandora, Lou and Georgia, photography by Marcus Dawes All our paints are freshly mixed to order meaning no waste. All of our packaging is 100% bio-degradable and/or recyclable even down to the stickers on our sample pots. The wall paint itself can be returned to the earth as it is compostable, and any plastics used to transport our paint is made using ocean friendly plastics. We use 70% renewable energy with Ecotricity, we already have solar panels, and we are installing a heat pump this autumn at which time we will be 100% renewable. We pay more for our packaging to ensure it is recyclable, so no plastic handles on our tins. Paints made just the way they should be. The Awards designed by Lladró, photography by Marcus Dawes Georgia and Lou from our London team, photography by Marcus Dawes Our founders have a vision, which is shared by our whole team, to make beautiful colours in paints which have the least impact on the Earth. Our award winning and B Corp certified paints are sustainable in their provenance, we are not offsetting or pledging in order to make them seem more sustainable. Shop colours HERE We put design and innovation before cost and will continue to do so. We are unique in using plant-based ingredients to make our paint with a ground-breaking bio-based binder. We are the only paint company that still uses natural earth and mineral pigments to make our beautiful colours. We use 12 pigments which have been used by artists for centuries. This guarantees a sophistication and complexity of colour which cannot be replicated by acrylic paint coloured with azo dyes. Natural paints simply look much better on the wall, because the colours are made from real pigments and there is plastic in our paint. We believe that our customers will be inspired by the natural paint solution we have given them to view all products in the same way. Read our Lifting The Lid campaign HERE Phoebe from Studio Hollond, Georgia and Lou from our team, photography by Marcus Dawes A huge thank you to all of our friends, designers and customers who continue to support us and the work we do, we are so grateful for you and your business, chats and hope to continue the conversation for many years to come. Nature and storytelling: a pop up with Forivor A pop up championing the whimsical and wonderful. Forivor believe that we need as many creative minds as possible to solve the many problems facing the future of our planet. We chat with Alice and Rebecca on their collections and their belief that children who develop a love for nature and expand their creative minds when they are young will be best placed to be part of a responsible generation, who prioritise the protection and regeneration of our planet.
Edward Reinvents his Smallest Room into a Space Full of Colour and Wonder When Inigo suggested coming to the Herefordshire home of our founder Edward Bulmer we thought we had to come up with something unique and never seen before for them! Edward’s home has been through many transformations, nowhere is this clearer today – perhaps surprisingly – than in the current ground-floor WC.
Step into ‘The Cutting Garden’: A floriferous collaboration with Thyme & Bertioli “To fill the house with freshly cut flowers must be one of life’s greatest joys” The inspiration behind the collection is all about bringing the outside in with a focus on the English CHouse aesthetic. A focus on nature, pairs perfectly with our plant-based paints. interior design
