Bleu Turc
Warm and exotic; as the name sums up this colour was based on turquoise mixed into white. Turkish and Turquiose long had the same meaning and the description was more often than not referring to the route by which minerals and pigments were traded from Constantinople. It was based on Cobalt blue and was given a wonderful greenish lustre by ancient ‘alchemists’. A colour to gladden the heart with the feel of summer in far off lands!
"I will never use anything except Bulmer paint again, I have to say. Plus I have no idea why the decorator forums made it sound so difficult! If it's within my capabilities, it's within anyone's!"
