In Celebration of Cuisse de Nymphe Emue

Cuisse de Nymphe Emue is our bestselling dusky pink. A colour created by Edward Bulmer after visiting Petworth House and seeing a similar hue in the family rooms, he knew that it was a colour that would be popular and he was right! We believe its popularity is due to its warm tones and versatility.

Cuisse is a colour that adds subtle romance without overwhelming a space, making it ideal for a wide range of rooms — from cosy bedrooms to elegant living areas.

To be inspired by the joy of Cuisse, enjoy the pictures below and discover which room you might transform using our stunning pink.

"Edward Bulmer Natural Paints are a go-to for us in our interiors projects and their likeminded attitude towards creating an environmentally friendly product made the collaboration an obvious fit. Cuisse de Nymphe Emue – there has been a real trend for pink interiors recently and despite there being a lot of pinks available, it is surprisingly difficult to find one which provides that hint of pink but is also manageable. This shade does just this and it is husband friendly!”

Nursery Inspiration

This pretty child’s nursery by Mel Weber Interior Design has used a 60% shade of Cuisse de Nypmhe Emue. This simply means that there is 60% of the ‘full colour’ by including slightly less pigment of the full colour. We do this by carefully reducing the pigment but without the tone migrating completely to become a different colour.

Mel picked this colour as she felt it was perfect for a nursery but ageless too.  It will still look beautiful as the room transforms to a child’s room and will appear elegant in the teenage years and beyond.

So, you’ve decided on Cuisse de Nymphe Emue for your home… but now we are making the decision a touch trickier. It is also available in three lighter shades, so 60%, 40% and 20% lighter which means you can find a place for Cuisse, the ultimate sustainable paint, anywhere in your house!

Jonquil, the best-selling plaster pink everyone needs in their home

This is a good yellow pink so I have borrowed the name of a colour made with Dutch Pink in the 18th century (Dutch Pink was actually a yellow pigment). It might be called a plaster pink now that we use gypsum plaster for interior walls and has a wonderful soft hue that hovers between pink and yellow/beige.

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?

Estimated

0 litres

0 m2
