Sir William Chambers seems to have been a big fan of Buff colour and one can see why – it has the clarity of cut stone and is a tone you can use all over or with an off-white trim colour. I have adopted the C18th recipe therefore that adds a little red to the yellow ochre and white.
“We used Edward Bulmer's Natural Paint throughout our family home when we took it over from my husband’s parents. It was always a much loved home and although we have redecorated it from top to bottom the subtle colours give it a timeless air and have united new rooms that we have added with the old Jacobean features of the house.”
