Our hand-painted fan deck is a very handy aid for the design professional or a keen amateur with a large job. Each sheet is 5 x 2 inches so gives you so much more than the chip on our concertina and is the perfect size for a handbag! We also give a short description of each colour and a historical paint key if you have a period home and want to follow historic precedent. We have designed the hand-painted fan deck so you can ‘fan out’ complementary colours and compare shades in one colour. Our new edition with our ‘Malahide‘ cover also contains samples in our new Water Based Eggshell and Water Based Gloss finish, as well as the same three colour examples of The Shade Collection as is on the colour chart.

We believe we are pioneers in creating natural paints using plant-based ingredients instead of petrochemical derived products.
Unlike many other paint brands, what’s in our tins is on our tins! We declare all of our ingredients, read our full list of ingredients and learn more about how our paint is made.

I’ve always had this mantra that you should live and work with what you love so as a designer I felt a real connection with Edward Bulmer’s transformative paints. We both see colour as a vital necessity – the essential raw ingredient. I’d fallen in love with Cuisse de Nymphe Emue – a pink that …
Thanks again for all your help – we are delighted with the Edward Bulmer paints. We have painted two rooms with 18th century panelling, which we were nervous about, and both the advice we received and your paint has been brilliant.
The decorator is waxing lyrical about your paint – he said it is absolutely brilliant to use! The beauty salon has used 5 of your colours and commissioned an artist to paint a mural in the same shades so it’s looking very co-ordinated in there – can’t wait for you to see it.
After discovering Edward Bulmer Natural Paints on one of our Grade 1 Restorations we now propose them as suppliers to all of our clients on all types of projects that we undertake. Our tradesmen find the paint itself to be of a superior quality and very easy to work with. Our clients enjoy the colour …
Having recently taken over Llanfendigaid Estate and having multiple properties including the main house with 9 bedrooms to renovate I wanted to make sure that I got it right. We thought about using an interior designer but it felt too exciting to not do it myself, so a colour consultation was the right balance of …
We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.
Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.
If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!
