French Blue

This is a beautiful smokey, grey blue. It is the colour I associate with the cloth used for the uniforms of French infantrymen in the 19th century. It would have been based on indigo the highly prized organic dye. It has a good tonality, a great foil for lighter colours used with it and a good compliment for stone and marble surfaces. This rich and warm colour is made from a combination of natural and earth pigments which have an extraordinary depth and response to light which synthetic paints cannot recreate.

Such a fantastic choice

That color is so good and perfect- are your paints sold in the US? they’re all so beautiful- I can’t stop looking at the gallery!

The first colour I knew I wanted to use was ‘Invisible Green’ by Edward Bulmer in the drawing room. I realised that I’ve never met a bright green room I don’t love, yet I rarely use the colour. This is the green of Babar’s coat – a shade that goes with so much, as it …

Excellent customer service! Emma was so incredibly helpful with her colour consultancy advice and always very quick at getting back to all my queries. I love the finished result from using Lilac Pink on the walls and Spanish White on the ceiling. Would recommend in a heartbeat

At last we found the perfect off white for our bedroom which we both love. Neither too pink nor too white Rose Tinted White goes perfectly with the rest of our decor. The paint was lovely, went on so easily with only two coats

Tessa Pound

I have always wanted to create a house with dark walls. You have to get the balance right though – go for striking, not gloomy. Tingry is the perfect choice.

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?
