August

Exhibition by artist and performer, Mia Worlidge 4th August-15th August

‘On Our Way To Perform’

We are so pleased to be hosting an exhibition by Mia, titled ‘On Our Way to Perform which will be opening at Edward Bulmer Natural Paint on August 4th.

Academically and traditionally trained at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Mia spent three years mastering the Old Masters drawing and painting techniques. Painting from life, Mia was trained in the Sight-Size Method. From Florence, Mia then went to the Rome University of Fine Art as the first foreign student, specialising in Pittura, Storia Dell’Arte e Scultura. This practice was then theoretically and academically grounded by another degree in Art History at University College London. Mia has since been awarded the Sacha and Susannah Steven Award for her work in portraiture.

Since the award, Mia has gone on to teach at Charles Cecil Studios during their summer courses in Florence. Mia is also currently working as Artist in Residence at Anita’s List in London, alongside taking private commissions at her studio in London and performing her original music all over Europe. Mia’s intention in her work is that each portrait is made up of the small moments shared between artist and sitter. Painting from life, Mia’s portraits are an accumulation of moments, music, thought, and sharing of practices. Mia’s paintings invite the viewer to listen to these shared moments between artist and sitter: the moments that make up the person’s spirit.

September

Exhibition by artist Susannah Taylor 8th September-20th September

‘Flower Power’

Cotswold-based Susannah Taylor has had a long career as a beauty and wellbeing editor. However she is also a lifelong artist and illustrator having worked with many brands. This year she has decided to turn her attention to her artwork.

“In a world overloaded with digital and screens, I was desperate to get away from my laptop and use my raw creativity. I wanted to use my hands again,”

Hugely influenced by nature and the bucolic surroundings of the Oxfordshire Countryside, we are delighted to be hosting Susannah’s debut exhibition FLOWER POWER, at our London showroom, described as ‘an exploration into the meaning and symbolism of flowers’

The paintings have been done in a variety of our natural colours, providing the backdrop that magically complement and enhance each botanical and its meaning.

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?
