Words by our colour consultant Fiona de Lys Pomona is a fantastic colour if you want to use it where you have dual aspect rooms of East and South light and that’s because it carries a little bit of yellow and a little bit of blue and can balance the light as it transitions from the morning through to the midday. This is a vibrant and energetic space. It is the music room where the warm yellow in the wooden flooring and the mini grand piano almost becomes the accent colour against the freshness of ‘Pomona’ on the panelled walls. This modern day music room is brought to life with window finishes, furnishings and various artworks in complementary dusky lilacs, pinks and a pop of emerald. Pomona is one of those Bridgeton background colours I call it and so works really well pairing with colours like ‘Fair Blue‘, ‘Lavender‘ and ‘Rose‘. You could go to town here and paint your architraves your doors, your corners, your ceiling, various combinations of these were really bright and energetic room. And if you wanted to include a white or a ceiling or an accent somewhere, I would recommend the warmth of ‘Spanish White‘. What are microplastics and how can we reduce them in mainstream paints? Microplastics, microbeads and nano particles are so tiny (measuring 0.006 to 1 millimetre, but they can be up to 5mm) that they are now everywhere! We are probably all inadvertently responsible for this as it is not mandatory to be told when they are used in a product and only a small number of their uses has been outlawed. Furthermore, plastics that are dumped in soils or water are being broken down to become microplastics.
