In summer 2026, our Pimlico Road townhouse welcomed a special residency from Cotswolds-based furniture studio Lorfords Contemporary, bringing together handcrafted furniture, antiques and textiles in a celebration of British craftsmanship and considered design. Following our 2025 collaboration, which introduced Edward Bulmer Natural Paint finishes to the Lorfords Contemporary collection, the residency marked a continuation of our shared appreciation for natural materials, traditional techniques and interiors designed to last. The Brompton Sofa against walls in Chocolate Lorfords Contemporary at Pimlico Road Celebrating ten years of Lorfords Contemporary, the residency brought a selection of made-to-order furniture from the Cotswolds to our London showroom. Curated by Nasia de la Haye, Toby Lorford and Edward Bulmer, the installation combined contemporary seating with antiques and decorative pieces from Lorfords Antiques and fabrics from Sister Parish. From the Elmstead sofa upholstered in Sister Parish’s Sunwick fabric to the Brompton in Raffia Fabric Dolly, each piece demonstrated how contemporary furniture can sit comfortably alongside antiques, artwork and collected objects. The residency ran until 15 August 2026, with the installation evolving throughout the summer as new antiques, artworks and decorative pieces were introduced. Today, with Susan’s daughter Eliza Crater as Creative Director, the company continues to celebrate the layered use of colour, pattern and textiles that defined Sister Parish’s approach to interiors. The collaboration with Lorfords brought together Sister Parish’s distinctive fabrics and wallpapers with furniture and antiques selected for their craftsmanship and character. “We sent a selection of our fabrics and wallpapers to Lorfords, the beloved Cotswolds antique destination, and Eliza, our Creative Director, hand-picked sixty pieces from their remarkable collection. Together, we arranged them into a series of vignettes that feel collected, layered, and completely at home with one another.” Susan Crater Artwork by Lorfords Antiques Crace Order a Sample Chatsworth Stone Order a Sample Freudian Order a Sample A shared approach to craftsmanship and colour The residency reflected an approach to decorating shared by all three brands: combining traditional craftsmanship with natural materials and allowing interiors to develop character over time. For Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, it was an opportunity to demonstrate how colour provides a backdrop for furniture, textiles and antiques, bringing together pieces from different periods and traditions. “As we celebrate ten years of Lorfords Contemporary, it felt important to create a London home for the brand,” says Nasia de la Haye, Managing Director of Lorfords Contemporary. “Bringing together Edward Bulmer, Sister Parish and Lorfords in one of the capital’s most significant design destinations feels like a natural meeting of minds, united by a shared focus on sustainable craftsmanship, comfort and interiors designed to last.” Nasia de la Haye, Managing Director of Lorfords Contemporary The residency also offered visitors an opportunity to explore the Edward Bulmer Natural Paint colour palette, including the Chatsworth Collection, alongside furniture and textiles in a series of thoughtfully arranged interiors.
