Cinnamon

Nathaniel Whittock published ‘The Decorative Painters and Glaziers Guide’ in 1827 giving the recipe of this colour as Vandyke brown, King’s yellow, Venetian red and whiting. We have followed his recipe but used black and umber instead of Vandyck, just to take the heat out of it and to make it a better wall paint, perfect for hallways. It has the lovely, soft feel of the summer drenched stucco of Tuscan facades. A colour used in period homes since Stuart times and now made modern in our low VOC, eco paint so it looks beautiful and is not costing us the earth.

Cinnamon is available in lighter shades of the original, so 60%, 40% and 20% lighter for versatility.

I wanted to say thank you so much for your advice - very much appreciated and extremely helpful! I’ve just received the well packaged paint I ordered and have started painting the study in French Grey - it's the perfect colour and I’ll move on to Cinnamon in the hall and Trumpington in the cloakroom (couldn’t resist!). I think the dining room will be Clove…

It’s difficult to choose a favourite… Invisible Green is wonderful for a dining room and is a great back drop for hanging paintings.

Bruce MacArthur, Head of Visual Merchandising OKA

The quality of Edward Bulmer Natural Paints are second to none.  The density of pigments in the colour is fantastic.  This means that when you work with it, the coverage is thicker and you don’t need to paint the walls with so many coats, which saves time, which from my team’s point of view is great as we have …

At last we found the perfect off white for our bedroom which we both love. Neither too pink nor too white Rose Tinted White goes perfectly with the rest of our decor. The paint was lovely, went on so easily with only two coats

Tessa Pound

We used Edward Bulmer paint in our 3 year old’s bedroom as we were worried about fumes/chemicals (he has a history of seizures which we didn’t want to trigger) and the paint has been a dream and looks wonderful!

Sophie Bristol

Invisble Green is anything but Invisible! It is so full of energy without being tiring. It has an incredible depth to it and turns any room into a jewel that feels alive.

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?
