Choosing the correct emulsion for lime plaster is vital. Lime plaster is the most environmentally friendly way to plaster your home.  It is essential for older buildings to maintain the breathability of old walls and ensure the maximum flow of air through walls.  Lime plaster will help improve indoor air quality and prevent the build up of moulds or dampness in your walls.

Our natural emulsion is the perfect choice of paint to use on lime plaster.  Natural emulsion is more opaque than clay paint and so the coverage is better and the surface is more durable.  Our natural emulsion paint is free of any plastics, including microplastics and so it is not film forming which allows yours walls to breathe.  All new lime plaster should be primed with our natural Plaster Primer.

A superior quality, water based, natural paint which gives a luxury, chalky matt finish which will bring your walls alive.  The aesthetically low sheen expected from a premium paint combined with an unmatched depth of colour is simply achieved by using natural pigments and non plastic binders with no need for microbeads.

Lowest VOC level (0.07%) of any emulsion paint.  Because we make our paint free from any toxic chemicals or synthetic ingredients our wall emulsion is the most eco friendly emulsion wall paint on the market today.  Made only from natural ingredients which are all listed on the tin and described HERE.

You cannot copy our colours with Dulux spectrometers because it is impossible to replicate the combination of the effect of natural paint made from plant based binders when mixed with natural pigments.  You might get the colour close but trust us it will look totally different on the wall.

Our Natural Emulsion is:

  • Perfect for lime plaster and preferable for use in old houses.
  • Durable, quality paint with low sheen (2%) and matt finish.
  • Breathable – without a plastic binder our emulsion is 20 x more breathable than modern acrylic paint.

How much paint do I need?

We have created this calculator to help you estimate the amount of paint you will need for your project. Please note that this is only an estimate, based on normal surfaces with two coats of paint.

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.

If you end up with any leftover paint, get inspired with ways to use any excess paint - it's even compostable!

What are you painting?
