A Cotswold Christmas

For our Christmas issue we are going a little off-piste and featuring two country inn hotels to raise our festive spirits! Not just any taverns of course…two gorgeous Cotswold pubs run by the lovely Willow and her husband Charlie Crossley. Both pubs, nestled in the rolling Cotswolds landscape, are beautiful old historic buildings which the couple have sympathetically restored, using natural breathable paint, and brought to life in a cool relaxed style with lashings of creative flair

The Bull, Charlbury, is famed for its superb food, all sourced locally; the burgers and Bloody Mary’s are legendary with a fresh pie of the day and healthy seasonal options. Willow has interior designed the whole of the pub and the colourful interiors are a focal point.  According to Tatler they also serve the best espresso martinis outside of the M25

The Swan, Ascott under Wychwood, opened this summer and has received rave reviews for both the food and the interiors.  Willow’s signature style of relaxed yet elegant spaces is evident throughout; the dining room features our ‘Invisible Green’ complementing a stunning Cole & Sons wallpaper.

Willow has collaborated with seven designers to create the bedrooms.  Each room is fitted with boldly upholstered bedheads, rich and colourful fabrics and walls, quality linen and throws to provide the signature homely and comfortable stay that guests treasure.
